Responsibilities

Position Summary:

The Clinical Data Support Analyst's role is to examine, evaluate, and prepare reporting for various business needs across the organization. This individual will use knowledge of reporting tools to develop reporting as required by the requesting department. The Clinical Data Support Analyst is also responsible for proactively generating and compiling reports based on recommended performance improvement business processes, and operation procedures. Responsible for the collection, analysis and reporting of data (medical, financial, and quality) from internal and external systems, including designing reports and benchmarking results in a clear and concise manner, as well as aggregating, processing and interpreting report data for departmental and executive decision making in an effective and efficient manner. This individual will identify and then generate the data extractions from Meditech, HPM, HBI and Midas.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Two or more years as a data analyst in a healthcare delivery system.

  • Experience working with clinical and/or financial data.

  • Bachelors' degree in Computer Science, Information Management Systems and/or Business Administration or other related field

  • Proven experience with report writing and technical requirement analysis. Business process modeling/mapping, methodology development and data modeling is preferred.

  • Masters Degree in Business Mathematics, Statistics or Information Systems is preferred

Special Skills:

  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with others throughout the organization.

  • Experience with Meditech, HPM, HBI and Midas including the ability to create stored procedures and views and then perform analysis.

  • Knowledge in database design and implementation.

  • Ability to solve data design problems.

  • Familiarity with Data warehousing, and integration.

  • Skills to use data from tables, linked tables, and queries.

  • Able to work with internal/external stakeholders to interpret verbal/written data requests into the desired output.

  • Ability to multi-task and work well within the team is important as many projects may be going on simultaneously.

  • Must be able to selectively communicate critical information.

  • Knowledge and ability to apply principles, theories and processes to data management.

  • Possesses a sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

  • Experience using statistical tools, (SAS, R. Stats), preferred.
