Under the general supervision of the Respiratory Coordinator and Director, the Respiratory Care Practitioner II must possess the ability to perform the essential functions of the position and have advanced knowledge of the different modes of respiratory therapy for all age groups. Must be able to work without supervision to provide general and advanced respiratory care throughout the various patient care areas; emergency response, skilled nursing, pediatrics, general floors and adult intensive care.
Must possess a valid California RCP License issued by the California Respiratory Care Board
Must have current BLS, ACLS, NRP and PALS or RRT-NPS certifications
S.T.A.B.L.E. certification is required within 12 months of hire
One year of general clinical experience in respiratory care
Must have completed a Respiratory Therapy program
Education level necessary to obtain required licensure and certifications
Experience in the use of computers preferred
Must demonstrate good interpersonal and customer service skills
Must have completed a Respiratory Therapy program.
Must be able to communicate effectively with physicians, support staff, patients and family members.
Must demonstrate good communications sills by the ability to handle conflicts in a professional manner, seeking assistance when necessary, by using established lines of communication and conflict resolution skills.
Must have good mental skills and the ability to understand and perform required procedures.
Must have the ability to read, write and speak English.
Ability to process simple math equations and formulas.
Could be required to act as shift coordinator for specific shifts or specific periods of time.
A/S degree preferred
