Dignity Health Technical Writer and Documentation Specialist in BAKERSFIELD, California


The purpose of Dignity Health Management Services Organization (Dignity Health MSO) is to build a system-wide integrated physician-centric, full-service management service organization structure. Create, edit and oversee organization documentation with an emphasis on policies, procedures, Self-funded plan documents, and member correspondence templates. Analyze regulatory guidelines to ensure that documentation meets appropriate standards with varying regulatory bodies.


  • Three or more years working in a high level administrative support position in a managed care, medical group, health plan, hospital or other related healthcare organization or related business environment required.

  • Experience as a technical writer, documentation analyst or other applicable position preferred.

  • Completion of a Bachelor Degree in healthcare or business administration, public communication, marketing or other field preferred. Combination of education and work experience may be considered.

  • Bi-lingual in Spanish: Written and/or Verbal with the ability to accurately compose and translate written material into Spanish is preferred.

Job Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to read, understand and interpret complex regulatory guidance to ensure documents meet requirements.

  • Ability to read and follow specific directions for submission process. Ability to critically think through items not clearly outlined in process.

  • Ability to organize and track documentation in Excel, Access or other program. Create reports for management based on costs or departmental information.

  • Ability to create professional documents using proper grammar, punctuation and appropriate reading level.

  • Ability to use an internet based system to store, track, review and revise documents.

  • Knowledgeable in the use of publishing software in order to create various documents and forms.

  • Effectively communicate with and articulate the organization's needs to translation vendors, able to read and understand basic vendor proposals.

  • Thorough knowledge of generally accepted professional office procedures and processes.

  • High degree of professionalism and knowledge of business operations.

  • Ability to continually re-prioritize to meet the needs of internal and external customers throughout the workday.
