The Dignity Health Heart and Vascular Institute of Greater Sacramento (DHHVI) is a premier provider of cardiovascular care in northern California, and encompasses six Dignity Health hospitals in the Sacramento region, including Mercy General Hospital, Mercy San Juan Medical Center, Mercy Folsom, Methodist, Woodland Healthcare, and Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital. Hospitals within the DHHVI are nationally recognized, have multiple Joint Commission certifications (LVAD, Chest Pain, Heart Failure), and includes the largest cardiac service hospital in northern California. The mission of DHHVI is to be the leader for excellence and innovation in cardiovascular care delivery, improve patient care quality through cross-facility collaboration, professional development, and community outreach and education for the communities we serve.
The Director, DHHVI reports to the Vice President, DHHVI and will focus on vascular service line development for the region as well as cardiac services at Mercy San Juan.
The position supports the CV Service line, focusing on GSSA vascular and MSJ CV services. As the GSSA/Regional vascular service line leader, role supports growth initiatives, including: develop and implement comprehensive volume and quality tracking programs for vascular services, identify and collaborate with leaders and physicians for cost reduction opportunities, improve operational efficiencies, collaborate with the vascular clinic/outsourced department, participate in collaborative marketing and outreach programs to build business and volumes, and ensure compliance with vascular care delivery requirements. The position also supports MSJ cardiology/cardiac surgery program initiatives focusing on operational, financial, and quality improvement opportunities. These include improvement in STS and ACC outcomes, LOS and cost reduction, support Chest Pain certification process, and assist with CDPH Elective PCI application completion.

Master's degree in related health care discipline
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a related field
Minimum of three (3) years of management experience
Clinical knowledge of vascular and/or cardiac services care delivery
Demonstrated leadership, project management, and goal achievement while managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines
Strong change management and organizational skills
Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, judgment, and analytics skill
Collaborate with senior leadership, physician, management, and staff
Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills
Demonstrated conflict management skill
Demonstrated initiative, creativity, follow through
Creative, takes initiative, and works well with general supervision
Understanding of budget, healthcare reimbursement, and healthcare trends
Ability to develop business plans
Intermediate computer skills – Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, Word
- Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license or other healthcare license
