This position requires a current California Pharmacist License, training and experience that demonstrates the following knowledge, skills and abilities. Knowledge of: pharmaco-therapeutics, therapeutic drug monitoring and therapeutic interventions, pharmaceutical supplies, drugs, chemicals and biologicals; federal and state regulations relating to pharmaceutical transactions, pharmacokinetics, supply management and inventory control. Skills: effective communication, both written and verbal. Ability to: enforce formulary decisions of the medical staff; maintain accurate and complete records; provide instruction and preceptorship on the subject of pharmacotherapeutics, its use and application.
The incumbent provides timely, accurate, and complete pharmaceutical care, which includes delivery of the appropriate product as well as drug information and drug usage interventions. Demonstrates competency in patient care for neonate, pediatric, adult and geriatric patients.
The incumbent shall demonstrate behaviors consistent with the core (Mercy) values in support with Mercy San Juan Medical Center and the Mission and Philosophy of Dignity Health.

1 yr acute hospital pharmacy experience or completion of a 6 week externship at MSJMC Pharmacy. Acute care in-patient hospital experience Recent acute care in-patient hospital experience. Experience compounding IVs and chemotherapy.
Demonstrated ability to enforce formulary decisions of the medical staff, maintain accurate and complete records, provide instruction and preceptorship on the subject of pharmacotherapeutics, its use and application.

additional job qualifications for this position: Working knowledge of: drug inventory management, Omnicell and Pandora reports for tracking medication usage and performing audits. Hospital experience with ability to compound IV and hazardous IV medications is preferred.
Current California pharmacist license.
