Overview

Responsibilities

This position requires at least six months experience in an accredited full-service Sleep Disorders Center/Laboratory or a comparable combination of education and experience and an AA/AS degree in related field. Bachelors and/or Masters degree in health related or computer related field is preferred. Training required for this position demonstrates the following knowledge: proficiency at testing and evaluating all sleep disorders patients at the sleep center. Special skills required includes: computer proficiency and typing; BiPAP, CPAP and auto titration devices. Candidates must have registration as a Polysomnographic technician, RPSGT and a BLS from the American Heart Association.

Under the general direction of the Polysomnographic Coordinator, this position will be responsible for providing polysomnographic training, screening, diagnostic testing, monitoring, and treatment modalities of various sleep related disorders. The Polysomnographic Technologist also educates and orientates patients and trainees to the responsible procedures and treatment modalities. The Polysomnographic Technologist is also responsible for scoring, analyzing and compiling patient study data; and assisting in the quality assurance audit, record keeping, and accreditation procedures. This position demonstrates competency in patient care for neonate, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.

Qualifications
