Position Title: Supervisor of Home Health

Position Summary:

Supervises a unit of service that contributes collectively to the provision of high quality patient care. Monitors and supports the desired outcomes as established for their specific area of responsibility.

  • Collaborates with other area supervisors as required to support the hospital's role as a community health service provider.

  • Assists in implementing a unit Quality Management Program consistent with hospital wide Performance Improvement Plan. Operates the units within the financial and productivity guidelines, setting goals and developing policies that support this objective.

  • Provides for quality services by ensuring that the staff are well trained in the services to be provided.

  • Addresses, escalates or resolves unit issues, including problem resolution related to customer complaints, concerns and suggestions.

  • Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of management experience (within the last 5 years) in a home health agency, primary care clinic or health facility; sufficient background knowledge and expertise in clinical decision making for the patient population assigned.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Health or Business related field.

  • Licensure: Current CA RN or PT, or OT, or SLP or MSW or LCSW & American Heart Association BLS


  • Knowledge of effective measurement techniques and ability to measure the quality and quantity of work effort for the purpose of improvement.

  • Knowledge of federal, state and local healthcare related laws and regulations; ability to comply with these in healthcare practices and activities.

  • Knowledge of all clinical standards and policies set for a healthcare environment; ability to use industry standards, policies and procedures in the processes of clinical practice.

  • Knowledge of the day-to-day operations in a home care services agency; ability to effectively manage and maintain activities that support the performance of home care services.

  • Knowledge of policies, products, and processes of home based healthcare services; ability to utilize tools and techniques to provide healthcare services in a home-based environment.
