Overview

Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital has proudly served as the sole healthcare provider for western Nevada County for more than 50 years. Much has happened since the hospital opened in 1958, including additions in 1994 of a 68,000 square foot Outpatient Center, a comprehensive Cancer Center and most recently, the opening of the Sierra Nevada Diagnostic Center in the fall of 2006. SNMH is a licensed, acute care hospital providing a full range of services including cardiovascular, surgical, emergency and diagnostic. SNMH offers access to the SNMH Health Sciences Library. The library features continuing and medical education for healthcare professionals, diabetes classes, prenatal classes, cancer support groups, and family caregiver classes. In addition, we have more than 90 board certified primary and specialty care physicians on our active and associate medical staff.

Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Pharmacist is responsible for all functions in the Pharmacy relative to the procurement, dispensing, preparation, inventory of medications, and providing advice and information regarding medications, to the hospital staff and patients as required. The Pharmacist is a supervisor to the Pharmacy Technicians, and responsible for all medications dispensed to the inpatients and outpatients. The Pharmacist is in charge of daily operations of the Pharmacy Department and assigned intermittent program and compliance functions.

LICENSE:

.CA Pharmacist License

EXPERIENCE / SKILLS:

. One year experience as a hospital pharmacist

. Sufficient experience to be responsible for intravenous additive service and unit

dose distribution system

. Sufficient knowledge to provide drug information consulting for the medical and

nursing staff, and hospital patients

. Ability to work under stressful conditions with frequent interruptions

Qualifications

  • Hospital clinical training or equivalent experience,

  • One year experience as a hospital pharmacist with sufficient experience to be responsible for intravenous additive service and unit dose distribution system, sufficient knowledge to provide drug information consulting for the medical and nursing staff, and hospital patients.

  • Ability to work under stressful conditions with frequent interruptions.

  • Current California Registered Pharmacist license.
