Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital has proudly served as the sole healthcare provider for western Nevada County for more than 50 years. Much has happened since the hospital opened in 1958, including additions in 1994 of a 68,000 square foot Outpatient Center, a comprehensive Cancer Center and most recently, the opening of the Sierra Nevada Diagnostic Center in the fall of 2006. SNMH is a licensed, acute care hospital providing a full range of services including cardiovascular, surgical, emergency and diagnostic. SNMH offers access to the SNMH Health Sciences Library. The library features continuing and medical education for healthcare professionals, diabetes classes, prenatal classes, cancer support groups, and family caregiver classes. In addition, we have more than 90 board certified primary and specialty care physicians on our active and associate medical staff.
The Registered Nurse -Break Relief provides break and lunch relief for other Nurses on the Unit(s) from 0830-1700. This position requires flexibility. The person hired into this position will be asked to work up to 8 hours in length based on the need to cover breaks and lunches in unit(s) with varying census. The incumbent provides, coordinates and directs care to individuals and families using a holistic approach. The nursing process is used as a structure mechanism for critical thinking and problem solving in providing effective and appropriate care within a safe and confidential environment from admission to discharge. The Incumbent is responsible for collaborating with members of the healthcare team, providing leadership, personal/professional development, and conducting him/herself professionally.
Current California State RN license
Current BLS Healthcare Provider
Acute care RN experience mandatory.
Accurate assessment of medical/surgical/oncology complications with demonstrated understanding of appropriate interventions.
Accurate interpretation and use of unit-specific equipment.
Ability to read, speak and write English.
Computer skills required.
Physically able to walk, stand, stoop and lift safely.
