Responsibilities

Position Summary:

The incumbent serves in a dual role as a clinician and as a discipline leader. As a direct provider of care, the incumbent serves as a role model in the evaluation and treatment of patients exhibiting communication and swallowing disabilities; including, but not exclusive to, oral-motor functioning; speech and voice production; language and cognition. The incumbent evaluates, develops, and implements treatment plans utilizing current and effective methodologies, maintains effective documentation thereof and demonstrates a high degree of competency in treating any of the following: neonate, pediatrics, adult, and geriatric patients as applicable to the site/level of care of employment.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of clinical experience in Speech/Language Pathology.

  • Experience in a supervisory role and in precepting. Has good oral and written communication skills, has good organizational skills.

  • Specialized assessment for the appraisal of neuropathologies as they relate to communication and swallowing function including aphasia, cognition, dysphagia and dysarthria, medical terminology, current speech pathology techniques, standards, principles and procedures, basic computer skills.

  • Current California license as a Speech Pathologist,

  • Possesses and maintains current CPR certification.
