Mercy Medical Center Mt. Shasta is a member of the Dignity Health system of health care providers and is a not-for-profit medical facility. We are designated as a 25 bed Critical Access Hospital and are accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health care Organizations. In addition to our acute care hospital we also own and operate two Rural Health Clinics providing walk-in immediate care as well as scheduled appointments for routine medical needs. We are located in the northernmost area of California and are part of a network of care, including Mercy Medical Center Redding and St. Elizabeth Community Hospital in Red Bluff. Responsibilities

Position Requirements:

The Occupational Therapist as a multidisciplinary team member, evaluates, treats and instructs individuals who are limited by physical injury or illness, developmental or learning disabilities, psycho-social dysfunction or the aging process to return them to their optimal level of function; in addition, acts as member of Hospice interdisciplinary team providing in-home assessment/evaluation, patient/family/caregiver education and inservice training for staff and volunteers. The Occupational Therapist must be organized and consistently follow through with responsibilities in a timely manner, especially in documentation.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Registered as specified by the AOTA

  • Experience in physical disabilities in a hospital or skilled nursing facility setting.

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Must be able to independently evaluate patient problems and needs, within the occupational therapist's scope of care, and develop appropriate plan of care

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience in physical disabilities in a hospital or skilled nursing facility setting

  • Master's degree
