Responsibilities

EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT - HOSPITAL ADMINISTRATION

Northridge Hospital Medical Center

Under limited supervision, the Executive Assistant performs a variety of complex secretarial duties for the assigned Vice President(s), exercises independent judgment and discretion, coordinates appointments and calendars, and supports other Administrative staff as needed. As the Administrative adjunct to the Vice Presidents, distributes work assignments following the direction of the Vice Presidents and follows up on those assignments as directed. Anticipates what routine information is required for the Vice Presidents to make decisions and to facilitate gathering of that information.

Requirements: High School graduate. Two years of college education in business or healthcare related field preferred. Five to ten years recent administrative/ executive secreterial experience required. Previous hospital or healthcare experience strongly desired. Excellent telephone manners. Fast note taking skills for meetings required. Excellent spelling and grammar skills. Typing 70-80 WPM. Must handle sensitive and high confidential information; follow complex directions. Advanced practitioner in all Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Minimum five to ten years' previous administrative/executive secretarial experience required.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology desired, but not necessary.

  • Previous hospital experience preferred.

  • Must have excellent secretarial skills and telephone manners.

  • Typing 70 80 WPM and shorthand or other form of fast note taking required.

  • Excellent spelling and grammar skills.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Publisher)

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Access and ACT.
