UNIT SECRETARY – EMERGENCY SERVICES

Northridge Hospital Medical Center, a Dignity Health member

NHMC is seeking a Unit Secretary that will provide variety of tasks that lead to high level of customer satisfaction in the most cost-effective manner with respect and dignity. Under direct supervision of licensed personnel, coordinates clerical, support and receptionist functions in accordance with Hospital policy for Emergency Services. The Unit Secretary will transcribe, transmits and places physicians' orders to appropriate areas under the direction of the Registered Nurse; arranges for the efficient and timely admission of all patients. Responsible for completion of patient discharges and transfers via the hospital computer system. Maintains an organized and professional work area.

Qualifications

  • Minimum one (1) year of medical clerical duties in an acute care environment required.

  • Completion of an accredited/approved medical terminology course preferred.

  • Proficient with AS400/Cerner preferred. Current AHA BLS card required.

  • CPI training within 90-days of hire required.

  • LA City Fire Card required within 90 days ofhire.

  • This position is represented by SEIU-UHW and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
