In keeping with the Dignity Health core values, the Food Service Worker I performs a variety of patient food service and dish-room duties, as will as other related tasks, such as delivering patient meal carts to nursing units, and various cleaning tasks.
High School Graduate or equivalent preferred
Prior food service experience preferred
Must be able to work independently and as a team member
Must be able to take instructions, comprehend and follow through
Must be able to communicate effectively with peers, staff and supervisors
This position is represented by SEIU, Local UHW and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.

Frequently must be able to concentrate on moderate detail with some interruption. Job requires frequent ability to attend to tasks/functions for 20-45 minutes at a time. Must be able to understand and relate to specific ideas generally several at a time. Consistently remember task/assignment given at beginning of a period of time extending several days. Able to read the fine print on work instructions and patient diet cards. Must be able to distinguish normal sounds with some background noise, as in communicating with tray-line and kitchen personnel while dish-machine is operating. Able to make self understood to peers, staff and supervisors while also understanding others using the English language.
