The purpose of Dignity Health Management Services Organization (Dignity Health MSO) is to build a system-wide integrated physician-centric, full-service management service organization structure. The Arizona Care Network, LLC (ACN) is a clinically integrated (CI) physician network and Accountable Care Organization (ACO) that is a collaboration sponsored by Dignity Health and Abrazo Health. The Chief Finance Officer is an employee of Dignity Health Managed Services Organization (DHMSO), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dignity Health, providing support to ACN.
Under the oversight of the ACN CEO the Chief Finance Officer is responsible for reporting the financial performance of ACN on a monthly basis and is responsible for detail utilization and quality analytics reporting. This position prepares financial analyses of operations, including interim and final financial statements with supporting schedules using the Lawson application, for use by the LLC owners and the Board of Managers.
PRINCIPLES DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversees closing of books for ACN on monthly basis, including review of bank reconcilement, journal entries and general ledger account activity.
From Lawson reports generated by the Dignity Health Corporate Finance team, analyze activity and propose journal entries to ensure monthly financial statements are reasonably and fairly reported for the LLC owners and Board of Managers reliance on accuracy and completeness of the information.
Presents monthly financial statements, including supporting schedules, to the ACN Finance Committee and Board of Managers.
In collaboration with the ACN CEO and the ACN Leadership Team, this individual will prepare the annual budget to be submitted for approval by the ACN Board of Managers through the LLC owners’ budget approval process.
Assures compliance with Dignity Health and Abrazo Health corporate policy and standards for financial reporting.
Develops, analyzes, and interprets statistical and accounting information in order to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget, and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the organization.
Payer Contract Performance Analysis
From claims and other data provided by vendors and from payers such as the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) and commercial insurance companies, prepares analysis of cost data to report financial performance of contracts.
Oversees reconciliation of member beneficiary information for all payer contracts.
Performs gain-sharing and risk-sharing calculations in accordance with payer contracts and criteria established by the ACN Board of Managers and analyzes trends and costs of care by provider in the network.
Helps develop and revise gain-sharing and risk-sharing methodologies based on operational needs and available data.
Other duties as assigned by ACN CEO.
A) EXPERIENCE: Minimum seven years in a healthcare finance and management position with a managed care organization (Independent Physician Association, Third-party Administrator or Health Plan). Two years as a CFO in a health plan.
B) EDUCATION AND TRAINING: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Health Administration or a related field or experience commensurate with position. Master’s degree, CPA or equivalent is required.
C) SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Demonstrated skills in the areas of accounting, supervision, management, written and verbal communication, judgment, problem-solving, presentation and public relations.
D) OTHER REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a dynamic and highly motivated person with the ability to inspire and lead people, as well as communicate effectively with Physicians.
