Responsibilities

Position Summary:

The Clinical Analyst II, under Population Health Management, coordinates and streamlines data generation, collection, and validation of information from various data siloes across the enterprise for incorporation into an enterprise data repository. Position requires understanding of large scale data manipulation, as well as understanding of statistical methods/tools and data integrity tools needed for validation of data sets. In addition, qualified candidates will need to communicate and validate requirements for changes to business processes, policies, and workflows within a matrixed organization.

Essential Functions:

  1. Interpretation and translation of data sources, data definitions, metrics, and analytics to influence practice behaviors and patient outcomes for clinicians within multiple levels of the organization

  2. Research and analysis theory, methods, and statistics, relational databases & analytics tools including descriptive and inferential statistical methods

  3. Customer engagement and management, both internal/external, to effectively leverage resources to deliver on analytics projects that are patient-centric and across the continuum of care delivery

  4. Effective coordination and collaboration with other informatics and business teams.Defines and manages the scope of a business solution to meet the goals of the organization. 

  5. Designs and implements analytical solutions to improve processes, measure clinical quality goals, and develop predictive models for patent and population specific goals

  6. Technical capabilities to extract and normalize data, along with understanding of data mining techniques including but not limited to predictive models, forecasting and model optimization

  7. Excellent preparation and delivery of executive reports skills that summarize the focus of the analytical activities to all levels of staff within the organization.

  8. Ability to lead organizational change by working in multi-disciplinary councils to enact enterprise level change.

  9. Supervision of personnel/resource to ensure optimum support for system-wide analytics and reporting 

  10. Establish analytics as a foundational pillar across the organization through education, publications, data governance

  11. Ability to work in a complex and matrixed team environment.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience

  • 5+ years in healthcare setting; knowledge of business operations and in-house business systems; ability to understand IT projects and concepts as they relate to high-level business objectives, and ability to present those concepts to both IT and non-IT audiences in a concise and easily understandable manner; possesses a structured, process-oriented, problem solving mentality ; understands and employs fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures relating to report writing analysis and design; and possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent professional experience required.

Special Skills

  • In depth knowledge and experience in computer use, EHR experience preferred

  • Skills in Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.

  • Understands and employs fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures relating to report writing analysis and design

  • Knowledge of business operations and in-house business systems required

  • Ability to understand IT projects and concepts as they relate to high-level business objectives, and ability to present those concepts to both IT and non-IT audiences in a concise and easily understandable manner

  • Possesses a structured, process-oriented, problem solving mentality

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Education

  • Masters degree in healthcare related field, epidemiology, biostatistics, or MPH preferred

Special Skills

  • Knowledge of statistical programming programs such as R, SAS, STATA

Licensure

  • Licensure/certification in in the areas of Rehab Services (Occupational, Physical or Speech Therapy), Respiratory Therapy, Pharmacy, case management, or Nursing preferred.
