Responsibilities

Position Summary:

The IT Project Manager III (PM III) is accountable for the project objectives. They define areas of responsibility including resource allocation, influencing sponsors and manage work prioritization. The PM III plays an active role in making decisions involving human resources, technical and financial resources necessary to implement change for high impact environments. They design processes and structures to support enterprise wide change.

The PM III is expected to work autonomously and have minimal interaction with HR/Project Leader with regards to program management methodology. Through collaboration, demonstrates team leadership while focusing on items that will have project outcome implications other than expected.

PM III’s direct by exception and they are expected to contribute to the continuous improvement of the project management lifecycle methodology. They are assigned to medium or large projects. Will be assigned to multiple projects, with rare exceptions and can be assigned as a contributor PM on programs.

Essential Functions:

  • Manages the project management delivery and is considered a subject matter expert in project management principles, techniques and best practices

  • Often directs and consults with project team members, leadership in the preparation of project documentation, deliverables, milestones, resources, schedules and budgets

  • Requires leadership experience in managing cross-functional teams and influencing senior level management and key stakeholders

  • Often leads Project team(s) comprised of project managers I, II, project coordinators, business analysts, applications analysts and developers

  • Adheres to Dignity Health Project Management Methodologies as defined within the IT Project Management guide

  • Does not have HR responsibilities

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

  • Five plus (5+) years of Project Management experience

  • The PM III must have the ability to manage business sponsor relationships, and navigate political landscape

  • Understanding of Finance and Accounting principles in relation to project budgets, purchasing and analysis of financial results

  • Negotiation skills

  • Team Leadership

  • Communication for results

  • Decisiveness/Ability to make a quick assessment of the scope of an issue and provide options for its closure

  • Ability to develop strategic business cases for departmental or project specific initiatives

  • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project & Word

  • In depth knowledge of Information Systems (software, hardware, network)

  • In depth knowledge of the architectural system components, business processes and applications to minimize the impact of changes in software, hardware or network

  • Radiology/Cardio Imaging/Biomedical Project Experience

P referred Qualifications:

  • Project Management experience in a Health care environment preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience

  • Project Management Professional (PMP)® Certification preferred
