This position assists physicians and nurses during surgical procedures and in preparation for surgery. The Tech supports the delivery of safe, competent care to our patients and is also responsible for maintaining the sterile field, being constantly vigilant that the scrubbed members of the team adhere to aseptic/sterile technique. Also assembles and processes sterile instrument trays and equipment which helps expedite the operative procedure by anticipating the needs of the Surgeon. Providing procedural circulating support and performing instrument, sponge and equipment counts is another characteristic of the position.

General Surgery is seeking a RN to work as a member our Surgical Services team in our designated Level 1 trauma center. We do a variety of cases from General, GYN, Urology, Ortho, Ortho Trauma, Robotics, Plastics, ENT, Urology, Vascular and Dental. Our 12 newly renovated rooms are spacious and loaded with the state of the art technology (SI & XI robots). The partnership we have developed with our Surgeons and Anesthesiologist has created a culture of “Family” and “Unity”. Did you know our team has over 600 years of Operating Room experience? Our team is made up of RNs, Scrub Techs, Equipment Techs, Anesthesia Techs, an Inventory and Coordinator II as well. We are very proud of the work we do and the support we provide.

Qualifications

Minimum:

HS diploma/GED

Greater than two years surgical technologist clinical experience

Ability to identify and respond to advanced clinical issues

Current BLS (American Heart Association)

Preferred:

Surgical Tech Program Graduate
