This transformational leader will develop strategic partnerships with internal and external stakeholders in support of Service Line objectives with the goal of achieving clinical transformation and promoting value based care. Reports directly to the GSSA Chief Strategy Officer. The position works closely with the Chairs of the Pediatrics and OB/GYN Departments, nursing leadership and hospital leadership to establish a single strategic direction for Women's and Children's services across the GSSA. The position develops and implements service area wide and facility specific business and strategic plans to support the continued growth and success of the service line; establishes and leads a cohesive organizational structure that supports the care continuum; provides operational oversight for the selected clinical activities and programs; ensures the financial viability of women's and children's services initiatives; establishes collaborative relationships with various departments and managers within the hospitals and operating groups; engages and supports women's and children's services managers, supervisors, clinicians and staff as integral parts of the development of service area wide service lines; designs, plans and implements programs that promote the service line to improve the health of communities served.
Knowledge requirements: Service line leadership (matrix management); Regulatory requirements; Issues impacting the future of Women's and Children's services - e.g. develop in clinical care, information systems, funding sources, community health and services; Business development and strategy; Aspects of both medical and non-medical care programs. Demonstrated experience with service line programs and initiatives, with demonstrated understanding of key technologies, clinical and business trends for healthcare. Ideally, candidate will have experience working with physicians and nursing leadership.
Minimum 7 years' experience in service line and/or healthcare management.
MBA, MHA, MPH or equivalent graduate degree
