Dignity Health Nurse Practitioner - Cardiovascular in SACRAMENTO, California
Dignity Health Mercy General Hospital has been serving the Sacramento community for more than 100 years. Founded by the Sisters of Mercy, Mercy General has been at its current site in the heart of East Sacramento since 1925. Mercy General Hospital has 342 licensed beds, a physician staff of more than 800 and is the highest volume cardiac procedure hospital in California. Mercy General is one of six Sacramento area hospitals that are part of Dignity Health, a system of 39 hospitals and medical centers in California, Arizona and Nevada.
This position provides advance practice nursing care across the continuum of care services related to patients that present with valvular disease that may require a broad spectrum of advanced surgical or interventional treatment and services. This position may be involved in research clinical trials, patient and professional educational programs and patient follow-up. Emphasis is on the team approach. The roles of the cardiovascular nurse practitioner will evolve over time to meet the needs of the patients and of the advanced valvular disease cardiovascular team. These functions will be performed in accordance with the approved standardized procedures.
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing, completion of an accredited program for nurse practitioner, Masters degree in nursing and certification as a nurse practitioner.
Current CA licensure as a RN
Provider number (NPI) is required.
Eligible to apply for furnishing and DEA license in order to prescribe medications within approved standardized procedures.
BLS and ACLS certifications
- Experience as an acute care Cardiovascular Nurse Practitioner.
