To provide systems and data analysis support for the Revenue Reporting and Systems Department focusing on the identification and implementation of opportunities to improve net revenue realization and cash flow at CHMC. The goal of this department is to Bridge the clinicall Financial Gap. This position will serve as a resource for internal departments (i.e.: decision support, patient financial services, and finance). Position will be responsible for development of reports and training / education of staff to use the reports. Working with CDM analyst and department managers to control late charges and improve charge capture.


Minimum 3 years hospital / finance experience. Query and other AS400 related programs. Strong analytical and communication skills. ANNSAFEREG, CT FIRESAF

Performance Expectations:

  • Access and coordinate data from various hospital and Dignity Health systems including Query, AS400, Trensdstar, DS Pathfinder, etc, for the purpose of opportunity identification, monitoring and reporting of revenue cycle performance.

  • Using knowledge of Hospital systems and processes to help identify revenue enhancement opportunities in hospital operations and clinic locations.

  • Coordinates with other departments including finance, decision support, business office, etc., to develop and generate reporting templates formonitoring revenue performance.

  • Assist in the maintenance of CDM including research of appropriate coding, cost and pricing information, assisting and directing 0DM analyst asnecessary.

  • Modeling reimbursement terms to determine expected financial impact of process and charge master modifications.

  • Evaluate and respond to data/statistical report requests from other departments, division and system offices.

  • Monitoring and ensuring data integrity.

  • Assists in the development and enhancement of existing capabilities related to the standardization & consolidation of daily/weekly/monthlyreporting revenue cycle reporting.

  • Assists in the development and execution of plans to standardize how data is collected and reported throughout all revenue cycle departments andinformation systems.

  • Maintains continuity of routine monitoring as noted. Departmental revenues as specified by CFO/ Director Inpatient Census / Accommodationcode Billing Error Repots Charge Entry reports Late Charges Report Monthly reporting for CFO -Managed Care, Cap, Others as idenfitied/developed.

  • Assists in the oversight and training of the CDM analyst and other staff as appropriate.

  • Works with staff to answer Managed Care Operations / Revenue related questions in the absence of Director.

  • Oversees charge additions, and deletions as applicable. Provides assistance to revenue generating departments to assure uniform application ofthe procedures ( HCPCS and CPT codes), regulatory agency compliance and compliance to Dignity Health policies and procedures. Coordinatereviews and Audits pertaining to charges as needed. Coordinate education to those applicable areas to assure integrity of the charges/revenue.

  • Assist departments in working their (charge) rejection batches to ensure all charges are captured to avoid missed revenue and eliminate latecharges. Work closely with Accounting to ensure charges are mapped and aligned to applicable AUs.

  • Other tasks as necessary.
