Job Summary:

Under the oversight of the Executive Director Risk Analytics, the Business Analyst is responsible fordriving analysis and data reports for Dignity Health’s Value Based Agreements (VBAs). This position is also responsible for efficient and complete data abstraction and analysis with the ability to draw meaningful conclusions from that data.

The Business Analyst will complete VBA related projects of quantitative and qualitative nature. Monitors, researches, analyzes, and prepares written and verbal reports on metrics related to VBAs that are identified by system-wide senior leadership as guided by various initiatives. Works collaboratively with others to proactively identify, communicate and assist in data analysis.

  • Gathers the information from various sources to help understand the specific situation and studies/analyzes the information to find a solution.

  • Creates and/or runs SQL queries on the data to address specific requests for reports and or data needs.

  • Identify and interpret patterns and trends, assess data quality and eliminate irrelevant data. Develops trend analysis reports that monitor key performance indicators and compares them to internal and external benchmarks.

  • Performs analysis and interpretation of data to demonstrate clinical and financial outcomes, within specified timeframes and frequencies.

  • Communicates verbally and in report form, the results of the analysis.

  • Will need to be proficient in tools such as Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Must be able to address client issues so as to ensure high satisfaction with the team.

  • Must be able to handle more than one project at a time.

  • Must be able to provide regular updates to the stake holders regarding the project at hand.

  • Perform other responsibilities and functions as directed.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2-5 years as an analystin health care analysis, finance, financial modeling, economics, or equivalent.Bachelor degree in related field

  • Must be a problem solver, self-starter and works independently.

  • Qualitative data collection methodologies and analytical analysis.

  • Experience with developing, building and modifying SQL scripts.

  • Effective interpersonal communication skills. Has regular contact with a variety of audiences including Risk Analytics & Population Health Management teams, key stakeholders, physicians and other Dignity Health Divisions and Corporate staff.

  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills to effectively build relationships within and outside the organization.

  • Relevant experience and demonstrated solid financial skills including modeling, analysis, forecasting, and reporting.
