Responsibilities

The Human Resources Assistant provides Human Resources administrative support to the San Francisco Dignity Health Corporate Office, the West Bay Centralized Business Office and task specific support to the Dignity Health and affiliated hospitals as required. The primary responsibility is to provide human resources administrative support to Corporate employees in the areas of HRIS, new hire and termination processing, leave of absences, general benefits administration, file and records maintenance and reporting. Other responsibilities include: Assists with on-boarding of new hires; coordinates with recruitment to ensure employee completes Orientation; files required health and regulatory form; sets up new personnel file, and enters new hire information into Lawson. Actsw as the primary contact for benefits administration to include answering basic employee inquiries, processing of LOA premium payments. Process leaves of absences for all employees acts as liaison between employee and supervisor and to ensure accuracy and compliance. Enters workers accident and leave information into Wings database, works with HR Manager and Supervisors to ensure timeliness of response and filing of claims. Schedules and may conduct new employee orientations. Coordinates exit process by utilizing termination checklists as guidelines. Ensures employee termination payments and information are received in compliance with California Wage Hour Laws. Compiles Lawson reports to assist HR Manager and other members of the HR team and Dignity Health leadership to monitor leaves, terminations, performance evaluations, and other reports as may be required. Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars as needed to keep current with policy changes and assist in personal development. Processes various employee change requests, audits for accuracy, works with HRIS to identify/resolve processing issues. May function as HR Super User for CBO HR team. Assists with the performance review process: collection of evaluations, input into Lawson via spreadsheet, follow up on overdue evaluations according to Dignity Health policy. Assists HR Manager with various research projects and/or special projects.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma

  • Minimum of two to three years experience in Human Resources in administrative or specialist role with demonstrated increasing levels of responsibility.

  • Excellent customer service, problem solving, interpersonal, and written and oral communication skills.

  • Must be able to plan, prioritize and multi-task in a fast changing environment while being attentive to details.

  • General knowledge of principles and practices of human resources.

  • Experience with a HRIS database, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook.

Preferred

  • Five to six (5-6) years in Human Resources administration.

  • Lawson experience
