Position: Manager of Internal Communications
Location: San Francisco, CA
Manages internal communications that focus and engage key internal constituencies on the organization’s operational business priority initiatives, and brand promise. Provides proactive leadership, executive counsel and development of the internal communication planning, programs, and materials necessary to drive and support the organization’s priorities, and in coordination with the system’s priorities and staff.
Works closely with leadership to manage, create, oversee and implement interactive communications plans, messaging, activities, and tactical implementation to support strategic interactive communication priorities for employees, physicians, sponsors, and volunteers throughout the service area to help strengthen overall employee engagement.
Ensures Dignity Health’s mission, brand, and business goals are represented in internal-facing communications.
Writes and edits content for various initiatives, including but not limited to: newsletter articles, presentations, talking points, digital content, social media, letters, brochures, training materials, speeches, and video scripts.
Supports the building and maintaining of the communication ambassador programs throughout the system.
Self directs work to ensure timely and accurate portrayal of messages and materials and works collaboratively with others functions to drive results (e.g., HR).
Knowledge of healthcare industry's trends, directions, major issues, regulatory considerations and trendsetters; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.
Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.
Understanding of the need to carefully evaluate the impact of emerging business situations and choose the best path forward and ability to select and assertively communicate actions and activities that maximize organization performance.
Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics and ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
Knowledge of and ability to utilize the means, tools, techniques and media to communicate information about the organization internally and externally.
Knowledge of organizational practices and considerations for communicating in the public arena, from the community to global public relations (PR); the ability to communicate to various forms of media outlets effectively and establish favorable public relations.
Education and Experience:
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in communications, journalism, or a related field is required. Health care experience preferred.
Bachelor's degree in marketing or a related field is required related field and/or a combination of education and/or additional job related experience in lieu of the degree.
