Responsibilities

Position Summary:

The Senior Vice President of Mission Integration, plans, develops, implements and monitors System-wide mission and spiritual care strategies and programs, including the provision of strategic and governance support to Dignity Health's Sponsors and System Board committees, in order to ensure that the mission and values of Dignity Health are effectively communicated and operationally integrated throughout the System.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Provides strategic and governance support to Dignity Health’s Sponsors and System Board committees, in order to ensure that the mission and values of Dignity Health are effectively communicated and operationally integrated throughout the System, thus maximizing Dignity Health’s capabilities and effectiveness as a healthcare organization. Communicates and negotiates with key groups to achieve optimal outcomes and meet targets in the areas of Mission Integration, Spiritual Care Services, and other related areas.

  • Establishes broad organizational structures and collaborative relationships with each facility. Works with System and Health Facility Board committees, Hospital Presidents, Vice Presidents of Mission Integration, Spiritual Care Directors, and other System and facility leaders in the design, facilitation, and development of System processes and programs to assure the operational integrity of the mission and core values of Dignity Health.

  • Provides consultation and guidance on potential and actual problems in areas of Mission Integration, palliative care, and spiritual care services, and works with the appropriate leader, committee or council to resolve same.

  • Analyzes, identifies and initiates changes and develops and maintains an organization-wide network for formal and informal communication for benchmarking best practices in the areas of mission integration, palliative care, and spiritual care services on a system-wide level.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in a related field. Minimum of seven (7) years of direct management experience in a related field.

  • Theological background and current knowledge of Catholic traditions and sponsoring congregations.

  • Knowledge and experience with spirituality, Spiritual Care Services and spiritual care in a clinical setting.

  • Knowledge and experience with palliative care in a clinical setting.

  • Master’s degree in theology, religious studies, psychology, (or an equivalent combination of education and/or additional job-related experience) is required.
