About This Position
In keeping with the Marian Medical Center health care philosophy, the Registered Nurse manages quality patient care through the nursing process. Coordinates plan of care with the health care team. Assumes leadership role for unit personnel to prepare and assist them with their responsibilities. Employees are responsible for completion of unit competency assessments, annual safety review, CPR, and renewal of license by maintaining continuing education units as required by hospital policy.
RN Selection Criteria
Registered Nurse Graduate with 6 months to one (1) year of work experience and new graduates without acute care experience will be considered on an individual basis. Current California Registered Nurse license or interim permit. Current approved health care provider CPR certification. Employees working Nursery must have current NRP.

Recent experience within last two years in acute and/or sub-acute/long term care. Demonstrates proficient nursing skills. Demonstrates a caring and compassionate attitude toward others. Demonstrates ability to assume a leadership role for patient care teams. Demonstrates ability to delegate appropriate patient care tasks, duties, etc. to other people. Willing to actively participate in unit leadership teams, task forces and committees. Demonstrates ability to organize and prioritize work efficiently. Demonstrates clear, effective written and oral English skills, and objective active listening skills. Reacts calmly and efficiently in emergencies. Acts as a role model for unit staff. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with others across all departments. Ability to achieve results for the organization with and through people, utilizing creative and innovative solutions, conflict management problem solving skills. Current California Registered Nurse license, or Interim Permittee License. Current CPR certification.
