Our Patient Care Support positionsare critical to the success of St. Joseph's Medical Center and require the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of Dignity Health. It is expected that our employees demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values.
A Patient Care Support provides clerical support and services to meet specific needs of a nursing unit. Participates in and coordinates telecommunications between nursing and all departments. Is responsible for preparing, compiling and maintaining patient records. Assists mothers in completing birth certificate worksheet and paternity papers. Coordinates maintenance of office supplies and forms PAR levels and nurses station. Communicates effectively with all customers and assures accurate maintenance of a patients medical record.
High school graduate or equivalent
Medical Terminology, General clerical, and computer knowledge
Prior experience as a Unit Secretary in an acute care setting preferred
