Under minimal direction, the Pharmacy Coordinator assists in the day-to-day functions of Clinical Pharmacy Services. This position is responsible for gathering information from medical records and other sources as required to assist patients and Clinical Pharmacists in the PRICE clinic while adhering to the department protocol policies.
The Pharmacy Coordinator assists in creating an environment that exhibits a positive attitude toward patients and employees and engages in promoting excellent customer service.
2 years experience in retail pharmacy/ medical/ insurance experience.
CA Pharmacy Technician License
AA Degree or related work experience and college level education may be considered in lieu of education requirement.
Ability to be self-motivated and work within minimal supervision, yet able to recognize when it is appropriate to seek assistance.
Ability to perform pharmacy calculations.
Ability to operate fax machine, photocopier and voice mail system.
Capable of using and learning to use an electronic medical record (EMR).
Demonstrate computer skills with clinical quality and financial reporting required, including Microsoft Work, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Desktop Publishing software.
Must have strong ability to serve as a patient advocate through a demonstrated skill in and understanding.
Able to exercise discretion to ensure that patient confidentiality is maintained and a professional, respectful, clinic/department environment exists at all times.
Familiar with electronic methods of communications (i.e. e-mails, computer messaging, pagers, etc.).
Knowledge of clinic and department policies and procedures.
Familiar with Dignity Health medical Foundation clinics, names and locations.
Ability to work in a team environment that may change or fluctuate dependent on the activity or timeframe.
5 years experience in retail pharmacy/medical/insurance experience preferred.
Previous Leadership experience preferred.
Strong communication and leadership skills.
Knowledge of brand and generic medication names and pharmacy terminology.
Ability to promote a role model excellent customer service.
Ability to work and communicate to diverse work force in all levels of the organization.
